To mark 25 years, The Lowry Hotel worked with AK Experience to create a mixed reality campaign worthy of the milestone. The objective was clear from the outset: turn the anniversary into a moment the city could witness, not a piece of content that simply announced it.
We developed a single, cinematic mixed reality activation built around the idea of the hotel as a gift. The Lowry’s façade appears fully wrapped in silver celebration paper, finished with an oversized bow and ribbon, before a Porsche positioned at street level pulls away and unravels the entire building in one fluid motion – releasing confetti across the Manchester skyline as the hotel is revealed beneath. Filmed from a street-level perspective and designed to feel entirely real to the viewer, the activation blurred the line between a genuine city moment and a piece of social-first storytelling.
The campaign gave The Lowry Hotel a visually distinctive anniversary presence across social platforms, transforming a brand milestone into a shareable cultural moment that felt as much like something the city witnessed as something the hotel produced.
